Blog Party Q and A From Jocee's Blog!

Jocee is having a blog party over at her awesome blog, The Cupcake Dictionary!! Go check it out for yourselves! ;) Here are my answers to her questions:
  • What would your dream summer vacation be? That's an easy one...Disney World! DUH!
Seriously, I HAVE to meet Peter Pan!!
  • After a rainstorm, what you think of when you see the sun peeking out from the clouds? Rainbows.
  • If you were stranded on a desert island with the sun streaming down on you and had ONE palm tree for shade, you can only have three things with you; what would they be? Water bottles, food, and the Bible.
  • Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or neopolitan? Chocolate!
  • If you saw your celebrity crush walking down the beach with a surfboard, what would you do? Say hi and ask for his autograph.
  • If you went back in time for a day, what era would you go back to, and why? The 1950's because everything was just so cool and snazy!
  • What's your favorite thing about waking up on a summer morning? NO SCHOOL!
  • Your soundtrack or theme song(s) for the summer: Somewhere Over The Rainbow, All By Myself, and There's A Place For Us.
  • Say you went to California to visit family. What's the first thing you would buy? Tickets to Disney Land! The actor who plays Peter Pan there is hilarious!
  • Manicure, pedicure, or facial? Facial.
  • What's your favorite color combination? Silver and pink.
  • If you were at the beach and you wanted to write a message in the sand, what would you write? God Loves You!
  • You're stuck in Paris with $10,000. What do you do? Go to Disney Land Paris, of course!
  • What's your most favorite type of summer weather? Cloudy and sunny at the same time.
  • Blowing bubbles while taking a bubble bath? YES!
  • Cupcakes or dictionaries? Cupcakes win hands down.
Hope you liked it! :)

Are You Locked In A Tower?

I watched Tangle for the first time last night, and I have to say that it was probably the best kids movie I've seen in a long time. It had comedy, romance, and a good moral all tied into one! I think of all the Disney princesses I can relate to Rapunzel the most. She does the same things everyday.... art, read, music, etc. Pretty much all the things I like. But as much as I do love those things, I still long for adventure, to discover what my purpose is in life. The only thing is, I'm a little scared. Sometimes I'm too scared to allow myself to try new things and explore life, that I end up locking myself in a tower.
Instead, I should be learning to trust God. I shouldn't be afraid to let down my hair for Him. I need His help to get me out of my tower. I wonder.....are most girls like Rapunzel? Locked inside a tower, never realizing their true identity as God's princess? Never allowing themselves to enjoy life? God doesn't want that for you. He wants you to give Him your insecurities, doubts, fears.... He wants to help you out of that tower.
Before I close this post, I simply HAD to post the above picture. I think every little girl dreams of being a princess. YOU are a real princess.

Inspring Quotes and New Blogging Series

I really love that quote, and the picture is lovely. When life gets hard, we need to hold on to God and learn to praise Him, in rain or in shine.....

OMG, I just HAD to add this one! It gives me chills just looking at it.

No matter how big of a mistake you make, always know that God loves you and is willing to forgive you and help you through it.

This is my life verse, and probably one of the only things that got me through that dark time at the hospital. And of course, it has a rainbow for the picture. Awesome, right?

Ah, another Narnia pic and quote by the amazing C.S. Lewis. Very inspiring indeed. Sorry you can't see it all to well.....I'll have to work on that.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you girls that I am starting a new blogging series soon all about accepting yourself, and learning to yourself through God's eyes. He made you beautiful, you know! If you don't know that yet or are still struggling with it as most girls do, hopefully you will gain some new perspective and encouragement through the upcoming posts. Feel free to open up and share your thoughts and trials related to that topic. We are all here to support you! :)

It Takes a Special Girl To.....

Look into the mirror and accept who she is. God loves you, and He doesn't want you to ever think of yourself as less!

Dress modestly. Wait to go, Georgie!

Eat as many cupcakes as you want and feel good about it. Life is not about being skinny. So enjoy
your sweets once and a while, and remember that God cares about how beautiful your heart is, not your outward appearance.

Persevere, even against the odds. Look at Bethany Hamilton! She lost her arm when she was 13, and now at 21 she is pro surfer! That's pretty amazing.
Praise God, even in the storms. A great song about this is No Matter What by Kerrie Roberts. Before a heartache can ever touch your life, is has to go through His his hands first. Trust God, because He has a great plan for your life!
