Randomness (Soul Surfer and Narnia)

So today I thought I'd do a sorta random post. I recently went to the theaters to watch the movie Soul Surfer, and I have to say that it was really good! It is truly amazing that even though Bethany lost her arm due to the shark attack, she still finds the courage to trust God. The movie was so inspiring. It teaches you not to give up and that you CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens you!

Above is a pic of the real Bethany Hamilton with Anna Sophia. She was a great choice to play Bethany! Loved her!
I love this photo of Georgie and Skander! Looks like he's not very fond of the stuffed eanimal....maybe he's mistaken it for a fan girl! O.k, o.k, I admit it..... I have a crush on Skander/Edmund. There. I said it. Happy now?

What can I say? This is just hilarious!

And now, to close this post, I present you with the famous song "Check the Gate", written by none other than Skander Keynes himself!.... well, with a little help from Georgie and the rest. But I'll give him most of the credit.

My Life Songs

1. No Matter What by Kerrie Roberts. This song really encouraged me while I was in the hospital last year. There were days when I just wanted to give up, and sometimes this song was really the only thing that kept me going. I guess I just had to learn to say," God, I don't know why this is happening to me, but you are still in control. If I ever get out of here or not, I'm just going to trust that you know what you're doing."

2. Lion by Rebecca St. James. I first memorized the lyrics when I was seven years old. Since then, I haven't stopped singing it. It's so beautiful and inspiring to listening to. I like the part where it says, "I'm scared and I'm not sure that you are safe, but you're eyes seem to say that you are good." That describes Aslan perfectly!

What are your life songs and why? I can probably think of a lot of other songs I like, but these two really speak to me. :)

P.S. I watched The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe commentary to-day! It was really cool to see what the actors were feeling as they shot the scenes. Now Skander Keynes/Edmund is officially my favorite Pevensie kid!

You Are Beautiful In God's Eyes!

Hope you enjoy this song I wrote! It's dedicated to all the beautiful girls I met during my stay at the hospital.

Beautiful To Him
By, Michal Faith Garza

When you don't feel loved,
When you feel like the world is against you,
When you feel so stuck and alone,
Keep on fighting now.
Just keep on trying now.
Don't, don't ever give up.

(Chorus)
'Cause you're beautiful to Him.
Know that you're worth it.
At the end of every storm,
There comes a rainbow.
You're beautiful to Him.
Don't have to be perfect.
To Him you have the beauty,
Of a butterfly.

When you are hurting,
And don't feel deserving,
When you feel like a disaster falling apart,
It's o.k to cry,
But keep your head up high,
Don't, don't ever give up.

(Chorus 2x)
'Cause you're beautiful to Him.
You were made for a purpose.
At the end of every storm,
There comes a rainbow.
You're beautiful to Him.
Please choose to believe it.
To Him you are worth everything.

No matter what happens in the future,
No matter what you do,
God will always love you.
He cares so much for you.
You're beautiful,
It's true.

Please comment and let me know your thoughts about the song. My prayer is that it speaks to you in a very special way. :)

I believe....

I believe that.......

Once you have Jesus in your heart, you are beautiful no matter what.

That people still care about each other. It we all work together, we can start a chain reaction of kindness.

That Narnia is real.

That rainbows are a sign of God. He really does preform miracles. Without Him, I wouldn't be alive today.

That every baby deserves a chance to live. It doesn't matter if they are small. They are still a precious, innocent gift from God!

P.S. Just thought I'd tell you girls how beautiful you all are! Remember, 'don't doubt your value!'

Who Is God?

I just got back from a mini Disciple Now camp at my church. Even though I am now utterly exhausted, it was really fun! Disciple Now really inspired to get to know God better and to witness to others.

Let me ask you this: Who is God to you? What does He mean to you? When you picture Him in your head, what comes to mind? This might sound weird, but I sometimes I actually see Him as a husband. Take a look at this verse my D-Now group leader mentioned to me:

"Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her......"In that day," declares the Lord,"you will call me 'my husband' ; you will no longer call me 'my master'....... I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord".....
(Hosea 2:14-20)

God is totally crazy about you! He loves you so much and WANTS to know you! The question is, do YOU want to love Him and know Him more??

Narnia Love

I don't know about you, but I am crazy about Narnia! Ever since the first movie came out when I was seven, I've been loving it ever since! Sometimes my cousin and I used to act out scenes from The The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe when we were younger, and today we are still the best Narnia buddies! Today I thought I'd do a post entirely about Narnia, so enjoy! : )

I love this picture of Edmund! Out of all the characters in the books and the movies, I think that he has learned the most lessons and grown the most....not to mention, he IS kinda cute..... :)

I thought this would be a good picture to post of the cast. It's neat to see them in pictures and interviews when they're not off being Kings and Queens of Narnia.....:) Look at Ben! He has a great smile.

Aslan is such a wonderful character. There's something about him that just makes me feel calm inside.

Lucy is great in The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader! She gets to do a lot more stunts stuff... which reminds me, I can't wait until the DVD comes out this week time!! I remember I first saw The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader right before I was released from the hospital....I will never forget that night. It was the first time in almost 3 months that I had ever been anywhere besides the hospital and The Ronald Mcdonald House!
Susan is so pretty! Between her and Lucy, maybe they can put Edmund and Peter in line! :)

And then we have Peter.....I wouldn't say he's cute, but he is handsome. He did a really great job with all those battle stunts. He probably trained for weeks!

If you've already seen The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, comment and tell me what you thought of the movie. As much as he would hate it, I have to say that Reepicheep was so cute! : D

Will You Accept Rachel's Challenge?

Recently I read a book titled "Rachel's Tears." It is a truly an incredible real-life story about a girl who lost her life to the 1999 Columbine High School Shootings.

17-year old Rachel Joy Scott was a teen with many aspirations and dreams. She enjoyed writing and also had a passion for acting. But the thing I think really made Rachel stand out was her deep love for God. She didn't just read her Bible, go to church, and run through the motions. She actually walked her talk. At school she was always the first to befriend the new kid. She would be the one stand up for the disabled teens, and the outcasts that no one wanted to associate with.

Let me just ask this: How many times do we actually go out of our way to help someone? When you go to school, do you ever stop to look for people to reach out to? Do you look for kids who seem lonely? Do you stand up for kids who are being picked on? Think about that.

Rachel also wrote a good deal about her spiritual life in her journals. She would pour out her heart to God, write poems, songs, and draw many pictures. Some people have even compared her writings to those of Anne Frank! You can view experts of her journals by googling Rachel Joy Scott.com.

Sadly, Rachel lost her life on April 20, 1999, due to the violent Columbine Shootings. Rachel chose to eat lunch with a friend on the school yard that day. All of a sudden, two teenage boys came up to her and shot her in the the legs twice, including her torso. She attempted to crawl to safety, but one of the boys picked her up by the hair and asked, "Do you believe in God?"

Rachel responded, "You know I do."

"Then go be with Him," replied the shooter, gunning Rachel in the head. In that instant, Rachel Joy Scott left this life and went Home. That's how much she loved Jesus.

At Rachel's funeral, Pastor Bruce porter issued a challenge to young people everywhere:
Rachel carried a torch, the torch of truth, the torch of compassion, the torch of the good news of Jesus Christ, her Savior and Lord, who she was not ashamed of even in her hour of death.

I want to lay a challenge before each and every one of you young people here today. The torch has fallen from Rachel's hand. Who will pick it up again? Who will pick up the torch again?

Will You accept Rachel's challenge?

Brandon Heath Concert!

Last night I got to go to a Brandon Heath concert with my cousins! It was my first concert, but I had a great time! My Uncle knows one of the players in Brandon's band, so we were thankful to get free tickets. Dave Barnes, who is also a singer and comedian was there too! I'll have to post one of his videos sometime. He is a great singer and so funny! : )

At the concert Brandon also talked about an organization called Food For The Hungry which helps children in Africa. I knew I wanted to do something to help too, so my family decided to sponsor a child named Fiona. I cant wait to start sending her letters!! : )
